Challenge

OZ Mattress is a small team of Melbourne-based mattress moguls who have shaken up the mattress market with superior quality products sold exclusively online. The inception of Oz Mattress began as a response to larger organisations, who were making outrageous markups on their products. The challenge for Digital Next was to increase the visibility on a number of key search terms. Natural growth had taken the site quite far, however, an injection of active SEO was needed. The most desirable term was “Mattress Sale” as a disruptive listing, despite OZ Mattress not offering a sale at the time.

Solution

OZ Mattress was on the periphery of page one. With a solid website UX, we were able to solely focus on link acquisition and manual outreach to build and sustain organic growth in the SERPs. However, at this time, their blogging activity lacked direction, and they struggled to find the time to consistently update their website with fresh, unique content. This would make it difficult to overtake their competitors, so we worked on alleviating this issue. To achieve this, we deployed an integrated content marketing strategy that incorporated a dynamic blend of blog management, content optimisation and social amplification; all geared to increase brand awareness across multiple channels and drive relevant traffic back to their site. We knew that, with new SEO traffic steadily increasing, sales would be secured.

The result of our planning and strategy was a fully-bespoke project; putting an emphasis on blogger Outreach and quality content-driven marketing. Because of this, Digital Next managed to secure a number of high-profile links on highly-relevant, high-performing blogging sites. Since coming on board with Digital Next, there has been a steady 10% increase in organic visitors month on month finding their way to the Oz Mattress website. In January 2016, the Oz Mattress website was receiving over 4000+ unique visitors per month, with an average session duration of 3 minutes. For over 24 months since inception in early 2014, the company received month on month record breaking online sales.
